I bet I can get you out of your head in 14 days

Read my letter again

Have you ever told yourself you're not enough? That you can't do it? That nobody likes you?

Me too. Honestly, for most of my life.

I used to be angry all the time and couldn't understand what life was about. What am I here for? I went to meditation retreats trying to reach nirvana. I got a philosophy degree at UCLA looking for answers. Some of it helped, but mostly it left me with more questions.

And I've had rough periods. Really sad ones, where my head was mean to me all day and I believed every word.

But then I had a breakthrough. I'd spent years trying to make those thoughts go away. What if I just noticed them instead of believing them?

Sounds simple, I know. But turns out therapists use the same idea in mindfulness and ACT. And it changed how I see pretty much everything.

First, hear this: it's not your fault. You're not lazy, you're not broken. Your brain repeats what it's used to thinking, and after years of "I'm not enough," it starts to feel like a fact. But it's still just a thought.

Your mind is the sky and your thoughts are clouds. They come and go. Some days it's one little cloud, some days it's a full storm. But the sky's always there. You're the sky.

That's what these 14 days are for. Let's go.

How it works

Every day you do the same 3 things. About 20 to 30 minutes total.

  1. 1
    Body

Move for at least 10 minutes, 20 if you can. Outside in the sun if you can. Your mood follows your body more than you think.

  2. 2
    Mind

Do the 10-minute sky meditation (drops October 1). No time? Do 5. Still no time? Do 1.

  3. 3
    Do it anyway

Ask yourself: if my loudest thought wasn't in charge today, what would I do? Then do that. Small counts.

Plus one new step a day for when your loudest thought shows up. You keep the old ones, so they stack. By day 6 you're running the whole thing.

A new day unlocks every morning. The one rule: never miss twice. Rough day? There's a small version that still counts.

Don't judge it by the first few days. It's a skill, so it builds. Week 2 is where it really comes together.

I'll email you every morning. And I'm going live on IG October 1, 7, and 14. Come hang, wherever you're at.

Your 14 days

Week 1: notice it

Week 2: unhook from it

Your progress

Your clear sky score from your check-ins. Higher means a clearer head. Look at the line, not one bad day.

Post it on day 7 and 14 and tag @pedronfrey. I actually want to see it.
